BELSS is a wide-profile company, the largest defense communications integrator in Latvia, which has been operating since 1994. For more than twenty-five years, it has been providing innovative solutions to its customers, offering a full range of services from simple consulting to complex technical projects provided by specialists in their field. Belss is able to provide a wide range of engineering telecommunications solutions and services, satellite communications, design and construction of buildings and civil engineering works for both the military and civilian.

BELSS is the official representative of Motorola Solutions in Latvia with a Platinum certificate of Authorization. BELSS operation is certified according to AQAP 2110 and ISO 9001 standards.

In Latvia, BELSS is the first company to be awarded an AQAP certificate.

1994

The company was founded in 1994 and started its operations with the supply of radio stations and other communication equipment to the National Guard of the Republic of Latvia.

1997

2001

In 2001, started cooperation with “Tele2” on the design and construction of base stations. To date, more than 300 base stations have been designed and built.

2004

2007

BELSS supplied and installed a sensor system for the State Border Guard. Within the framework of this agreement, the "green border" of the Latvian state was equipped with a seismic sensor system.

2014

BELSS designed the first modern barracks of the Republic of Latvia NAF, which was built in 2016

2017

2018

In October 2018, the “NATO Battalion Battle Group Deployment Buildings” “Ādaži National Training Center” in Kadaga, designed and built by BELSS, was put into service. Construction work began in April 2018 and was completed in September 2018.

2019

BELSS signs cooperation agreement with Motorola Solutions

The company began to offer design services - architecture, building structures, engineering communications.

BELSS started to implement the order of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia “Reconstruction of the technical building and antenna masts in“ Rīti ”, Olaine region.

BELSS enters the first place among the TOP10 Latvian traders-manufacturers of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Latvia in terms of the amount of purchases.

In May 2019, BELSS signed an agreement with the NATO Procurement Agency (NSPA) for the “Supply of Mobile Camp Equipment and Supplies” for a total amount of EUR 6,268,076.

Code of Ethics

The company's goal is to operate in accordance with the highest ethical standards. It is important for a company that its employees can rely on the company, that it works in good faith and develops business practices based on fundamental ethical principles. BELSS is a member of the Federation of Security and Defence Industries of Latvia (FSDI) and has accordingly signed its code of ethics and works according to its principles. In June 2015 members of FSDI Latvia started consultations with external experts and partners from the relevant ministries to develop a Code of Ethics during a seminar «Dilemmas of Ethics in Industry». Discussions regarding the aim and the standard were going on, and the content of the Code of Ethics analyzed both negotiated between members and consulted with partners (stakeholders). The development of a code of ethics is based on:
  • Global Principles of Business Ethics for the Aerospace and Defence Industry;
  • Transparency International "Enterprise Anti-Corruption Policy Assessment Index in the Defense Sector";
  • Findings of the study "Openness of Lobbying: Ethical Lobbying Practices in the Private Sector";
  • Suggestions and examples from members and partners.
The Code of Ethics explains the basics of behavior and actions and promotes the performance of the legal, honest, and high-quality duties of a member of FSDI Latvia, the persons representing them, and the successful implementation of the FSDI Latvia strategy. The Code of Ethics determines the openness and transparency of FSDI Latvia's activities by establishing responsible relations with partners in Latvia and abroad, as well as society as a whole, strengthening the competitiveness of the economy and the security of Latvia.
